Influenced by existentialism, a preposterous theater of the human condition, Himala aims to inform a parable in the most biblical awareness that thematizes mass hysteria, human greed, and envy as it unveils the menacing mixture between superstition and belief. Production costs for the film grew due to delays caused by rain and in at least one occasion, a sandstorm. Several aspects of the script was revised. (Ironically, both films are written by the same person, writer Ricky Lee.) 1982 Filipino film about Marian apparitions, directed by Ishmael Bernal.
